Good Morning Shoreline!
January 22, 2019
7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

This is a free event, and open to the public, thanks to Aegis of Shoreline!

Welcome back to a new year of connections.

Energize your day with coffee, a light breakfast and networking. Build relationships with and get inspiration from other members of the Shoreline business community. Reconnect with friends, make new acquaintances and create new business opportunities.

This month we are excited to spotlight, Gina Cantara and Vivian Peterson of Windermere Shoreline.

Bring business cards if you have them, and be ready to share a story about your business.

Aegis of Shoreline is providing a complimentary gourmet continental breakfast, and we will meet in one of the rooms in their beautiful facility. We will start at 7:30 and end at 8:30, but feel free to drop late or leave early as needed.

Presented by the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Aegis of Shoreline.

Business of the Month
Shoreline Historical Museum

The Shoreline Historical Museum opened its doors on June 14, 1976 as a community Bicentennial Project.  The Museum was named after the school district, which historically stretched from 85th (the old Seattle city limits) to 205th,  and from Puget Sound to Lake Washington - Shore to Shore and Line to Line.  Ever since then, the Museum has served the citizens of North Seattle, Lake Forest Park and since 1995 the City of Shoreline, preserving the history of the area and providing exhibits, programs and historical information.

The Museum has a good deal of information regarding the First People of the area, the Duwamish, and can help researchers and visitors find out what the environment was like in this area before development.  We also cover dozens of interesting topics such as the old Playland Amusement Park, the Aurora Speedway, the establishment of Richmond Beach, and the Firland Tuberculosis Hospital, to name a few areas in which we have important documents, photos and memorabilia.

In 2011, the Museum moved to a new venue at the corner of 185th and Linden, and made plans to expand its current buildings.  Today, we are constructing a 5000 sq. ft. collections and research facility that will hold the community’s artifacts, documents and photos, and provide better access to researchers.

Our current temporary exhibit is “Coming to America,” in which recent immigrants to the area talk about their personal journey and experiences.

Come and find out what these neighbors have to say about living here - You’ll be amazed!
