Why Personal Growth will Determine Your Future Success

“Do you have a plan for your personal growth?”

I do now, but 10 years ago I didn’t, and it cost me dearly.  Though I was successful by anyone’s standards, I had no plan to become better, no plan to improve myself, no strategy for making room for increase in my life…and consequently, as the pressure rose and the responsibility increased, all that I had worked so hard for came crumbling down. This story, sadly, is quite common…but it doesn’t have to be.

Personal growth is the “X-factor” for ongoing personal and organizational success.  “Potential” is a wonderful word, but “unfulfilled potential” is as negative as “potential” is positive, and to reach one’s potential, individually or as an organization, personal growth must be intentional.  Enter…The Law of Intentionality, which states: “Growth Doesn’t Just Happen. To reach my potential, I must be highly intentional.”

To grow, I must be aware of, and avoid, growth-stunting mindsets, and begin to cultivate daily, growth-producing behaviors. I must move from accidental to intentional growth.

About our Presenter:

My name is Russ De Vos, and I am the proud husband of Heather and father. Drinking coffee with my wife while touring her beautiful garden, reading a broad assortment of books, eating international food, traveling the world with my family, exploring the Puget Sound by boat, coaching wrestling, and teaching and training are some of my great passions!

As an Independent John Maxwell Team Certified Coach, Teacher & Speaker, I specialize in Leadership & Personal Development, and have led hundreds of volunteers and volunteer teams in mega-church settings.  My wife and I have also planted and led a church that grew from 17 to 1500+ people in 3 years. I have been a Top Sales Consultant and a Sales Trainer in the home improvement industry, have lived on 4 continents, and was the Oregon High School State Champion wrestler at 191 lbs (many moons ago!)
