Updated 1/20/2022

Shoreline City Hall has reopened to the public. City services are still being offered remotely by telephone, email, and online. Visit the City staff directory for individual staff contact information.

Latest updates:

  • Transmission level is high - protect our community: Due to the presence of the highly infectious Omicron variant, case numbers are at a high level of transmission. Hospitalization rates are also increasing. The sheer number of cases has the potential to be extremely disruptive for businesses and schools as employees become ill. Please continue to protect our community by getting vaccinated, getting a booster shot if you're eligible, wearing a well-fitting mask, and avoiding crowded indoor spaces. Learn more at Public Health Insider.

  • Free at-home COVID-19 tests: Every home in the US is eligible to order 4 free at-home tests. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days. Visit covidtests.gov to order tests for your household. If you need an at-home test before then, most people with a health insurance plan can purchase 8 at-home tests per month at no cost, either through reimbursement or free of charge through your health insurance. More information on insurance reimbursement.
  • COVID-19 testing sites: Testing sites are experiencing extremely high volumes and longer than normal wait times. Advanced appointment are strongly recommended and often required. UW Medicine sites are limiting testing to those with symptoms or a known exposure. Please do not go to emergency rooms for testing. Visit Public Health's COVID-19 Testing page for a list of testing locations and information about when to get tested.

  • Vaccine booster doses: As of January 4, the CDC has approved booster vaccine doses for those aged 12-15. For people of all ages who received Pfizer in their original booster series, you should get a booster 5 months after completing your primary shots. For those who received the Moderna vaccine, you should get a booster 6 months after completing your primary series. For those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, booster shots are recommended for everyone who was vaccinated two or more months ago. Booster Information from the CDC.

State Farm Announces Grant Program to Award $25K to 100 Communities

Erin Ison, agent for State Farm is happy to announce that State FarmĀ® is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022 by building the State Farm Neighborhood AssistĀ® grant program bigger and better. That means more grants and spreading good to more communities.

This year, the program will award 100 $25,000 grants (vs. 40 grants in previous years) to nonprofit organizations to help fund neighborhood improvement projects. Additionally, we’re doubling the number of cause submissions to 4,000.

“State Farm Neighborhood Assist truly embodies the spirit of what our company has been about for 100 years-being a good neighbor,” said Rasheed Merritt, assistant vice president at State Farm. “We are excited about expanding the program in 2022 to help even more neighborhoods.”

Here’s how the program works:

Submission Phase: Starts February 16 and ends when 4,000 submissions are reached. Individuals or organizations can submit a cause at http://www.neighborhoodassist.com starting February 16 at 1pm (ET). You can prepare now by going to the website and downloading the submission guide. We will accept the first 4,000 submissions. The State Farm Review Committee will then narrow the field to the Top 200 finalists using a scoring rubric.

Voting Phase: April 27-May 6

Ultimately, voters will decide which community improvement projects win big. The public will have a chance to vote 10 times a day, every day for 10 days, from April 27-May 6, for their favorite causes from the list of finalists. Voting will take place at www.neighborhoodassist.com.

Winners Announced: June 7

The 100 causes that receive the most votes will each win a $25,000 grant. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 7, at www.neighborhoodassist.com.

Last year, 125,000 people cast more than 3 million votes in support of their favorite causes, selecting winners from small towns and big cities. Since the program began, more than 380 causes have received a total of $10 million to enact change in their communities.

“Grant programs that address community needs, like Neighborhood Assist, are more important than ever,” said Erin Ison. “Thisinitiative truly embodies the spirit of being a Good Neighbor.”

Beware of scam calls posing as city utilities!

We have recently been made aware of a rash of scam calls from people posing as utilities calling about billing issues. These are not calls from city utilities, but are calls from people trying to get financial information from people. Please keep these things in mind:

  • The City will not call you regarding a delinquent utility bill unless we are returning a call you initiated.
  • If there is an issue with your bill, we will contact you through your bill or through a letter.
  • If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a city utility and you did not first initiate the call, it is most likely a phishing call from someone trying to collect your personal and financial information for fraudulent activity. Hang up!
  • Residents should be very careful not to release credit card or banking information to these callers. If you want to verify whether it is a real call or not, clarify which utility is calling, collect information on the incoming phone number and the name of the caller, and then hang up. You can then call the utility directly using a posted phone number from the utility’s website or from your utility bill.
