SHORELINE CHAMBER IN ACTIONShoreline South/148th Light Rail Station Grand Opening Event a Great SuccessOn Friday, August 30th, the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce hosted the Grand Opening of the Shoreline South/148th Light Rail Station. The event included activities and entertainment for all ages, including live music, a vibrant Lion Dance, delicious offerings from food trucks, exhibitors and performance by the Double Dutch Divas, and delicious offerings from food trucks. Chamber President Lara Grauer, Shoreline Mayor Chris Roberts and King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski spoke at a Welcoming Ceremony, sharing the impact of the Light Rail to the Shoreline community.

Ribbon Cutting for Floss & Gloss DentistryOn Friday, August 23rd the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce helped welcome Floss & Gloss Kids Dentistry with a Ribbon Cutting during their Grand Opening celebration. Pure Barre Ribbon CuttingThe Shoreline Chamber held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 3rd for Pure Barre, a new Shoreline fitness studio, in celebration of their grand opening.Shoreline Mayor Chris Roberts and Councilmember Annette Ademasu joined Chamber President Lara Grauer and Chamber Vice President Kevin Barrett, Pure Barre owners Meghan Snider and Nick Novy, other Chamber members and a large group of Pure Barre customers for the ribbon cutting. Pure Barre is located in the Aurora Square Shopping Center at 15525 Westminster Way N. in Shoreline. August Networking PicnicShoreline Chamber Members and other local business leaders gathered on Wednesday, August 14th for the Chamber's annual Networking Picnic at Paramount School Park in Shoreline. In addition to spending a great time together getting to know each other better, attendees were treated to an amazing lunch of grilled-on-the-spot BBQ from Smokin' Pete's BBQ, including hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, smoked brisket, potato salad, and fruit salad, among many other things. Sweet Dream Bakes provided an incredible selection of desserts, including Many thanks to both Smokin' Petes BBQ and Sweet Dream Bakes.
Chamber President Tours Local Businesses with Congresswoman JayapalOn Tuesday, July 30th, Chamber President Laura Grauer toured local businesses with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and Shoreline Economic Development Manager Nate Daum to get business owners perspectives. The businesses visited included Drumlin - a restaurant, pub and live music venue, Ridgecrest Books, Afro Barber Shop, Studio JYC -providing professional beauty rituals and Harambe Market. The Chamber honored three nominees for its 2024 Chamber Award: Marlin "Gabby" Gabbert, Jack Malek and Kevin Barrett. The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce Chamber Award acknowledges a Chamber member who leads by example, takes initiative, serves the Shoreline area through action and participation, inspires others to get involved and promotes respectful and supportive communication. Marlin "Gabby" Gabbert was announced as the 2024 recipient of the award. The City of Shoreline also honored three nominees for its Community Champion Award: Silje Sodal, for her work as the Executive Director of the North Urban Human Services Alliance (NUHSA), DarNesha Brown for her work as the owner of The City of Shoreline Community Champion Award acknowledges and celebrates a leader whose contributions to the community make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who live, learn, work, and play in Shoreline. Silje Sodal was was announced as the 2024 recipient of the award. |
