UpLift Downgrade at UpLift Climbing

Announcing this year's Uplift Downgrade, our biggest event of the year! On June 28, we're hosting an all-day event that's part community climbing competition, part live music, part party. While there's a registration fee to climb and compete, it's totally free to come and spectate and enjoy the band.

While our Big Raffle of prizes for competitors will continue to be mostly outdoor-gear related, this year I'm excited to highlight some of our neighboring businesses as well, such as gift cards from Ridgecrest Books and Ichi Bento.

Open to the community! It will be a really good time! We're expecting upwards of 250 people throughout the day.

Beware: SBA Grant/Loan Scam

America's SBDC CEO Tee Rowe reports a scam that is circulating that is using the SBDC and SBA logos to promote a fraudulent EIDL loan application process or phishing scheme. The email seems to come from the email address:

Certify Your Business as a Washington Veteran Owned Business

Washington State has a certification for businesses owned by Veterans and Servicemembers.  Certification is free and requires only basic veteran discharge status and business information to complete.

Shoreline Launches a Scooter/Bike Share Pilot Program

The City of Shoreline is launching a new dockless electric scooter and bike pilot program this July! You can explore the city in a fun and environmentally friendly way while connecting to public transportation options and reducing your reliance on a car.

The program will be piloted for two years with Lime selected as the service provider. Riders can download the Lime app on their smartphones to locate and unlock available scooters and bikes. For safety, helmets are required when riding, but there's a discount offered to incentivize helmet use. The City has asked Lime to start out with a limited deployment of scooters and bikes to test the service and see how well it works for our residents.

Don't miss this exciting new way to explore Shoreline this summer!
