As a community hub for a decade, the Shoreline Farmers Market has offered Saturday summer markets to our area since 2011. The market has served as an incubator and launch pad for several Shoreline-based businesses. Join Kara Conner, Market Director, and Laura Buzard, Board Member, for a colorful presentation on the ways the market has pivoted to becoming an essential pandemic business and how the market plans to serve the quickly developing Shoreline municipality, and how you can support the future of farmers markets. Learn how the market brings fresh food to residents in need and find out how you can support the future of farmers markets.

About the Speaker:

Kara Conner is in her fourth year with the Shoreline Farmers Market. Through the farmers market she educates customers about the immense need for equitable access to fresh food and works toward destigmatizing food access programs. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington State Farmers Market Association to advocate for food justice and provides support for farmers markets across the state. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for GROW, the advocacy group for Seattle’s P-Patches and community gardens.
